The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a collision involving a motorcycle that lost control on the Anthony Henday Drive exit ramp to Callingwood Road this morning.

At approximately 10:26 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, it was reported that a Honda CBR600 motorcycle was northbound on Anthony Henday Drive and attempted to take the exit ramp onto Callingwood Road.  The motorcycle allegedly lost control, struck the guard rail, and the rider was ejected over the railing onto the grass.  The motorcycle continued travelling until it struck a Peterbilt Bobtail truck that was waiting down the road at the stop light.  EMS treated and transported a 37-year-old male to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The EPS Major Collisions Investigation Unit continues to investigate, and speed is believed to have been a factor.  There is no word on charges at this time.

If you witnessed the collision or have any information that may assist investigators, please contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone.  Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
