On Wednesday Sept. 18, 2013 at 5:30 a.m. police received a call from a citizen who reported she awoke to the sound of her vehicle being stolen from her residence in the Silverberry neighbourhood near 26 Avenue and 29 Street.
At approximately 5:55 a.m. Southeast Division officers located the resident’s stolen Ford F250 in the area of 23 Avenue and 32 Street. Police continued to track the stolen vehicle until the suspect pulled into a gas station at 33 Avenue and 34 Street and began to fill the vehicle with gas. Police approached the vehicle and arrested the suspect without incident.
Terrance Beyer, 32, was charged with theft of motor vehicle, possess stolen property under $5000, possess break-in instruments, obstructing a peace officer, disqualified driving and breach of recognizance (x4).
The Edmonton Police Service encourages citizens to remove all valuables and to lock their vehicles. Steering wheel clubs are also recommended to prevent theft of vehicles.
