An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday, July 5, 2018. Homicide detectives have determined the manner of death a homicide, and are releasing the victim’s name in the hopes it will generate information about this incident.
Police would also like to speak with anyone who observed a white Jeep Cherokee bearing Northwest Territories license plates driving erratically yesterday evening.
“This stolen vehicle was driving west on Ellerslie Road from Parsons Road and then southbound on Calgary Trail to the 41 Avenue interchange,” says Staff Sergeant Bill Clark with EPS Homicide Section. “It then exited and drove eastbound, eventually ending up on Range Road 244, south of Highway 625, where it was found burning on Range Road 244. Anyone who may have observed this vehicle between 6:50 and 7:15 p.m. last night is asked to call police.”
Every file is evaluated on a case by case basis. The EPS has decided to release the name of the deceased at this time, as it serves an investigative purpose.

Background
At approximately 6:50 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, Southeast Division patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Ellerslie Road and Parsons Road. When officers arrived, they located an injured 21-year-old male in a parking lot.
EMS treated and transported the male to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early this morning (Tuesday, July 3, 2018).
