The Edmonton Police Service has arrested a female wanted for a series of alleged thefts from seniors’ residences in Edmonton.
At approximately 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018, police located Catherine McAlinden, 52 at a northeast Edmonton address and took her into custody on outstanding warrants.
At this time, McAlinden faces 33 charges laid by the Edmonton Police Service, and another 13 charges spread across five RCMP jurisdictions. Charges include fraud under $5000, break and enter and commit theft,and use of a stolen credit card.
Catherine McAlinden was suspected of committing numerous thefts at seniors’ homes throughout Edmonton and Strathcona County. On June 7, 2018, province-wide warrants were issued for her arrest.
