Police investigating after weapons complaint results in criminal flight

Police have charged two individuals in relation to a shooting that took place Wednesday afternoon and are seeking information regarding a black truck that allegedly fled the scene following the incident.

At approximately 5:22 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of Hermitage Road and Hooke Road. It was reported that shots were fired from a white Kia Soul toward a black truck in the area.

 

Upon leaving the scene of the alleged shooting, the Kia Soul struck a number of vehicles in an attempt to flee police. To ensure public safety, police pursued the Kia Soul and made deliberate contact with the vehicle in the area of 101 Avenue and 75 Street. The three individuals occupying the Kia Soul, two males and a female, were taken into custody at that time.

 

The driver of the Kia sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and transported to hospital by EMS. No innocent bystanders or police officers were injured as a result of this incident.

 

Jonathan Isaac Arsenault, 18, is charged with criminal flight, dangerous driving, possession of an offensive weapon, use of imitation firearm after committing an offence, as well as a number of breaches.

 

Peter George Walker, 33, is charged with possession of an offensive weapon, use of imitation firearm after committing an offence, discharge of weapon with intent to injure and breach of recognizance.

 

The third occupant of the vehicle, a 42-year-old female, was taken into custody but no charges have been laid against her at this time.

 

Investigators continue to seek any information about the black truck which fled the Hermitage and Hooke Road area following the shooting.
