Police investigate shooting in northeast Edmonton

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a shooting that occurred in northeast Edmonton early this morning.

At approximately 4:00 a.m. today, Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, Northeast Division officers responded to a report of a gunshot in the area of 113 Avenue and 68 Street.

 

Upon arrival, officers located an injured 28-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

 

It was reported to police that a party was taking place at a residence in the area when a disagreement broke out and a shot was allegedly fired.

 

EMS responded, treated and transported the male to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains.

 

Police continue to investigate and are searching for two male suspects who were reportedly at the party.

 

Detectives do not believe this was a random event and there is no concern for public safety at this time.
