A 76-year-old male pedestrian has succumbed to injuries sustained during a collision with a truck in northeast Edmonton last weekend, Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019.

On Jan. 12, it was reported to police that a male pedestrian in an electric wheelchair was travelling westbound across 50 Street in a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a 2005 Ford F-150, at approximately 11:30 a.m. that morning.
The truck, being operated by a 32-year-old male driver, was allegedly travelling southbound on 50 Street at the 165 Avenue intersection when the collision occurred.
The male complainant was treated and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The elderly male succumbed to his injuries earlier today, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019.
Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. At this time, Major Collision Investigations Unit continues to investigate. Charges may be pending.
