The deceased, Barbara Nelson, 59, was rushed to hospital by paramedics with undisclosed, life-threatening injuries last evening, Friday, Jan. 18, 2019. The female complainant succumbed to her injuries later Friday evening.
A 56-year-old male complainant, who was also in the residence at the time of the home invasion, was also treated and transported to hospital by paramedics with serious, undisclosed injuries. He remains in hospital today in serious condition.
Homicide investigators believe the incident was targeted in nature, and continue to investigate. No suspects have been identified at this time.
The autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning.

Northeast patrol members responded to a residential address near 119 Avenue and 61 Street at approximately 8:50 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2019.
Upon arrival, officers entered the home and discovered two complainants, a male and a female with undetermined injuries.
The suspects fled the residence prior to police arriving.
