Over 5,000 Edmonton and area AMA School Safety patrollers will celebrate a job well done with a year-end appreciation party at Fort Edmonton Park hosted by the Alberta Motor Association (AMA), the Edmonton Police Service, and community safety partners.

At the AMA School Safety Patrol 75th Anniversary Party on June 7, 2013, youth will enjoy games, rides, activities, and refreshments served up by volunteers.  The top patrollers will be recognized with the Coaching for Success award for outstanding teamwork as well.

Through rain, snow and sunshine, patrollers help motorists, pedestrians and cyclists watch out for each other as they cross the road.  School patrollers also learn leadership and responsibility by keeping our school zones safe.

For more information on the AMA School Safety Patrol, and to discover photos, artifacts and stories from the generations of patrollers who have kept our crosswalks safe for 75 years, please visit www.Facebook.com/AMASchoolSafetyPatrol.

The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is an advocate for traffic safety, travel and consumer protection, crime prevention, and the environment.  To learn more about the AMA’s products, service and member advocacy initiatives, visit www.ama.ab.ca.
