Charges have been
laid against a 78-year-old Edmonton man in connection to the death of a 60-year-old
female pedestrian on Oct. 6. The 78-year-old driveris facing charges under the Traffic Safety Act of failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and careless driving.
Background:
It was reported to police that a 60-year-old woman and 63-year-old man were travelling east to west in a marked crosswalk near 85 Street and 83 Avenue on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, when they were both struck by a northbound Dodge Caravan being driven by the 78-year-old male.
The 60-year-old female pedestrian eventually succumbed to her injuries on Oct. 22.
