On Thursday, April 7, 2022, at approximately 10:55 a.m., Southeast Division police officers responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 82 Street and 36 Avenue. Police located an injured female in her 20s. She was treated and transported by EMS to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; she has since been discharged.
A male suspect has since been identified in this incident. Jal Koak Bithou, 23, is wanted on multiple provincial warrants including aggravated assault, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowingly possess a prohibited/restricted weapon, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, assault causing bodily harm, discharge restricted/prohibited firearm with intent, and mischief over $5000.
Bithou’s whereabouts are unknown but police believe he may be driving a 2010 Red Dodge Journey, bearing the Alberta licence plate KLY732. Bithou is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
