EPS Homicide Section detectives have arrested and charged a 20-year-old male in connection to the shooting death of Wael Osman of Ontario. On July 17, 2020 at approximately 2:20 a.m. Southwest Division patrol officers responded to the report of an assault at a social gathering at a rural residence near 184 Street and 8 Avenue SW. Upon arrival, officers located 19-year-old Osman deceased.
An autopsy was conducted on July 22, 2020 by the Edmonton Medical Examiner and the cause was determined to be a gunshot wound and the manner of death was deemed homicide.
On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 20-year-old Lam Bithou turned himself in and was charged with one count of second-degree murder in relation to the death of Osman.
Police are not looking for any other suspects.
