An autopsy has been
completed in the death of a male who was found seriously injured in the river
valley on Saturday.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Tuesday, Sep. 17, 2024 and confirmed that the deceased, identified as Brandon Lee Cardinal, 30, died as a result of a gunshot wound. The manner of death is confirmed to be homicide.

Background
On Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., pedestrians in the river valley near 100 Street and 91 Avenue, in the area of Nellie McClung Park, came across an injured male. EMS attended and declared the man deceased on scene.
