The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a single-vehicle collision that sent the occupant to hospital with undisclosed injuries, after his vehicle came to rest in a farm slough.

North Division Patrol members responded to a serious collision call at approximately 4 p.m. this afternoon, near the Anthony Henday and 97 Street. Upon arrival, members discovered a vehicle submerged in a nearby pond.

The investigation remains preliminary at this time, but it is believed the vehicle was eastbound on the Henday, when it lost control and travelled across the westbound lanes, before leaving the road and coming to rest in a farm pond.

Members from Edmonton Fire Rescue and EPS were able to locate the occupant and pull him from the vehicle, before EMS transported the driver to hospital with unknown injuries. The EPS Major Collision Section members have now taken over the investigation.

If you witnessed the collision or have any information that may assist investigators, please contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone.  Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
