Police search for balaclava-wearing suspect, following early-morning B&E and attempted sexual assault

The Edmonton Police Service is searching for a male suspect, following a brazen, early-morning break and enter and attempted sexual assault of a female in her southeast Edmonton home.

Southeast Division patrol members responded to the complainant’s address near 20 Avenue and 49 Street at approximately 2 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, June 10.

It was reported to police that an unknown male entered the residence, while the occupants of the home were sleeping.

The complainant was awoken when a male suspect entered the master bedroom with his head and face concealed.  The suspect then allegedly threatening to sexually assault the woman.

The complainant successfully fought off her attacker and escaped the home along with her son and mother. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene northbound on foot.

The suspect is described as being an average size male, who was wearing blue jeans, black boots and black gloves, at the time of the incident.
