Suspicious death deemed a homicide

Edmonton’s Medical Examiner has confirmed that the death of a 26-year-old woman found deceased in Oakridge Mobile Home Park on July 21, 2013 to be a homicide.

The autopsy was completed today but the identity of the woman is still being verified through forensic investigation.

The cause of death is not being released at this time for investigative purposes.

This is not believed to have been a random incident and a suspect has been identified.  Investigations are ongoing.

 

Background:

At approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013, the EPS received a report of trouble-not-know in Southeast Edmonton. When officers went to investigate at the residence, located in the Oakridge Mobile Home Park, they found a deceased 26-year-old female inside a trailer home.

An autopsy has not been scheduled at this time.
