Edmonton Police Service officers from the Community Action Team have been working in Central McDougall to reduce crime, address neighbourhood issues and build relationships within the community.

“Speaking with Central McDougall residents, we learned some had concerns about disorder in the community. We’ve been working to target these issues over the past weeks while connecting with citizens throughout the neighbourhood,” says Const. Ian Smith with the EPS Community Action Team.

The public will continue to see in an increased police presence in Central McDougall through May as the EPS patrols for suspicious activity and traffic offences. Officers will also conduct door-to-door visits in the neighbourhood to speak with residents.

Members of the public are invited to join the EPS for a community barbecue this evening. Crime prevention materials will be available from EPS partners, including REACH Edmonton and various intervention services. Officers will also arrange sports games for all ages, weather permitting.
