Man in critical condition after early morning collision

The Edmonton Police Service Traffic Section is investigating a collision that occurred early this morning involving a pedestrian.

At approximately 7:15 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, police were called to the area of 113 Avenue and 95 Street regarding a collision. It was reported that a black Nissan Rogue was travelling northbound on 95 Street when it allegedly struck a male pedestrian in his 20s. The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk. EMS treated and transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The operator of the vehicle, a 45-year-old male, was not injured during this incident and remains cooperative with police. Speed or alcohol do not appear to be factors in this collision.

Traffic officers continue to investigate.
