Thanks to the quick thinking of an attentive neighbour, Southeast Division officers arrested three suspects in relation to a break and enter that occurred earlier this week.

In the morning hours of Wednesday, Apr. 5, 2017 Southeast Division officers were called to the report of a break and enter in the area of 19 Avenue and 33 Street. A concerned citizen phoned police when she heard a loud noise and noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in her neighbour’s driveway. A short time later, two unknown males emerged carrying bags out of the residence. The citizen took photos of the vehicle and called police.

The photos from the concerned neighbour and surveillance footage from a neighbouring residence helped Southeast patrol officers locate the suspicious vehicle a few hours later in a parking lot. Police observed the suspects allegedly pawning the jewellery that was confirmed stolen from the break and enter earlier that day. Officers also saw the suspects allegedly steal a bicycle.

A short time later, officers conducted a traffic stop and took three suspects into custody. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and majority of the stolen property from the break and enter was recovered, including an engagement ring and wedding band.

David Carter, 25, has been charged with possession of stolen property (x2), possess break in instruments, theft under $5,000 and housebreakingandcommit theft.

Sheldon Young, 41, has been charged with fail to comply with probation order and housebreakingandcommit theft.

Kirsten Young, 38, has been charged with possession of stolen property.

Police continue to investigate.
