On Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at approximately 9:15 p.m., two male suspects reportedly entered a business on Jasper Avenue with a firearm and machete. One staff member was held at gun point and the other employee was threatened with a machete, while allegedly being forced to fill a bag full of cannabis products. The two suspects then reportedly fled the business. Thankfully, neither of the store employees were physically injured during the robbery.
Yesterday, on Thursday, Mar. 17, 2022, search warrants were executed at multiple locations in relation to this investigation and the two suspects were arrested. Two firearms, ammunition and other evidence were seized during the execution of the search warrants.
Victor Corcoran, 19, is charged with 14 offences including possession of a weapon obtained by crime (x2), possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition readily accessible (x2) and unauthorized possession of a firearm (x2).
The youth is facing eight charges including robbery (x2) and disguise with intent (x2).
The EPS’ Robbery Section has charged two males, a youth and a 19-year-old, in relation to a robbery at a retail cannabis shop earlier this year.
